Luanda - The Angolan international referee, António Bernardo is due to represent the country in the 30th edition of the African Nations Basketball Championship "Afrobasket2021", to be held from August 24 to September 5, in Kigali, Rwanda.
The nomination comes from a list of 18 FIBA judges representing 13 countries, with Egypt, Senegal, Mali, Morocco and Tunisia with two referees each.
The Angolan referee is present for the third time in events of this kind, after the men's Afrobasket 2017 and the women's Afrobasket in 2019.
António Bernardo was also present at the African Clubs League (BAL), in Kigali; he started his career as referee in 1993 and reached the international category in 2005.
Angola integrate group A of the competition along with Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Cape Verde, the latter being the first opponents.

Group C Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Mali,
Group D Senegal, Cameroon, Uganda and South Sudan.
