Luanda - Angolan tennis player Daniel Domingos was defeated on Tuesday, in Cairo, Egypt, by Moroccan Ali Missoum by two sets to zero, with scores of 3-6 and 4-7, in the African Under-18 J200 Tennis Tournament, in single and male categories, respectively.
Daniel Domingos, who is considered Angola's hope in the competition, is a player from the National Team and the Kikuxi Villas Club Tennis Academy, located in the Municipality of Viana, in Luanda.
Another Angolan tennis player, Emerson Pedro, also lost on Monday to Egyptian Yassim Wageh, 3-6, 2-6.
As for the doubles matches, still on Tuesday, the Angolan pair Daniel Domingos/Emerson Pedro will face the Algerian Nacer Ghouli/Kenyan Zayyan Virani.
The event’s participants were selected by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT).
The competition has the participation of 32 tennis players, with the best classification in the ITF ranking.
The Angolan team is led by coach João Almeida.
