Luanda - The Angolan tennis player Joelson Paulino beat Reagile Diratitsile, from Botswana by 6-0 and 6-1, in a match of the African Circuit of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Confederation of African Tennis (CAT), under 18 years old, which is taking place from 10 to 15 of this month, in Gaborone City of Botswana.
In the other match of the event, which allows scoring in the ITF and CAT junior ranking, another Angolan player Emerson Pedro lost 2-6 to Zimbabwe’s Tendai Chihowa, who is number four in the series.
The two national players from the Jacquisa Tennis Center of Luanda, undergoing a training program in South Africa, qualified for the aforementioned Botswana Circuit due to their performance and results in tournaments in the city of Pretoria.
Scoring on the Circuit opens paths for future participation of the Angolans in the ITF and CAT, as well as other international levels.
Recently, Joelson Paulino won the GN Mini tournament, in pairs, in the senior class, also held in Pretoria.
With the partnership of Mahefara Kotomalala, the duo defeated Allan Gatoto/Fenosa Resendra, in the final match, by two sets to zero, 6-3 and 6-4.
On his turn, Daniel Domingos, in Under 16 category, from Kikuxi Villas Club, also won the Alcobaça tournament, in Portugal, in the final against the host Vasco Nunes, by 6-3 and 6-1.
