Luanda - The Angolan Gelson Dala cemented his leadership in the list of top scorers of the Qatar Football League, with eight goals in seven games, after scoring twice in the victory of Al-Wakrah SC over Sadd SC by 2-1 in the 7th round.

The former 1º de Agosto striker, who is still one of the biggest references of the championship, was considered player of the match, due to his exhibition.

Against the current champions (Al-Sadd SC), Dala opened the score in the 73rd minute, but the Spanish midfielder, Sant Cazorla, levelled the match in minute 86 through a penalty.

However, the night was reserved for the Angolan, who at minute 88  found the bottom of the net again thus securing three more points for his team that are currently in the second position with 15 points.

Gelson, who arrived in Europe transferred to Sporting de Portugal in 2016, moved to Rio Ave de Portugal, signed a contract with Al-Wakra in July, after spending a season on loan for this club.

The Angolan player said earlier that the first objective is to play for the collective, and that the goals come as a result of him being a striker.

1º de Agosto has placed, in recent years, a number of players in several countries (Africa, Europe and Asia).

Recently another former player of the club, the striker Ary Papel,  was elected top scorer of the Libyan Football  First League at the service of Al-Akhdar SC, with 11 goals scored.

Geraldo, Zito Luvumbo, Capita, Show, Mabululu, Nelson da Luz and Mário Balburdia are among the athletes trained at 1º de Agosto currently playing abroad.
