Angolan Tito Martins has been elected secretary general of the African Chess Confederation.
He was elected in body’s general assembly at International Chess Federation Congress held on the sidelines of the Olympics in India.
The continental chess body is headed by Tshepiso Lopano, from Botswana.
Speaking to ANGOP on Friday in Luanda, Tito Martins said that his main goal is to contribute to a bigger development of the sport in Africa and Angola in particular.
