Luanda - Angolan Adriano Kiana won a gold medal on Sunday at the "Nelson Mandela Boxing Cup '' in the 86kg category after winning by KO Nathan Nlandu from the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final of the competition held in Durban, South Africa.
Despite his experience from many years of practice, Nathan was knocked out thanks to Kiana's technical skills, which played a major role in the fight.
The other Angolan representative at the event, Miguel Kembo, lost in the final on points in the third and final round to a boxer from Mauritius, thus taking the silver medal in the 51 KGS category.
The event, in honor of former South African President Nelson Mandela, had the participation of 164 athletes from 42 countries.
Angola competed with five boxers, namely Nafetal Goma, Morais Orlando, Adriano Kiana, Miguel Kembo and Ernesto Gomes.
