Luanda - The Petro de Luanda and 1º de Agosto female handball teams face opponents from Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 44th Edition of the African Champion Clubs Cup, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
For the first match, 1º de Agosto team, who qualified in Group A, will play Bandama of Côte d’Ivoire on Wednesday, fourth and last placed in series B.
1º de Agosto, who are looking to revalidate the title, start as favourites against an opponent looking for affirmation in the continental competition.
The game takes place at 1 pm, at the Henri Elende pavilion, in the Congolese capital.
Another representative of the country, Petro de Luanda, will face, at 3:30 pm, on the same day (Wednesday), Nziko from Cameroon, at the Nicole Oba pavilion.
Petro, who also achieved full success in Group B, have 19 wins in the competition that ends next Saturday.
In addition to the involvement of Angolan clubs, the quarter-finals also include encounters between FAP of Cameroon vs Egypt’s Al Ahly, and the “derby” DGSP vs Grain de Sel (hosts).
