Luanda – Angola senior men’s basketball team beat Russia under-20, 74-59 in a preparation game ahead of their participation in the Pre-Olympic Basketball Tournament to take place in Valencia (Spain) on July 2 to 7.
In this second and final preparation game held in Belgrade (Serbia), the Angolan team that will seek qualification for the August Olympic Games in Paris, finished the first half losing 31-32.
Angola’s victory emerged from the third period in which they won 52-48.
In the first game held on Thursday, Angola defeated Serbia’s KK Mladost Zemun by an impressive 102-48.
The team led by Spaniard Pep Clarós, heads to Spain Saturday for the Pre-Olympic Games.
Angola is placed in Group A, alongside Spain, its debut opponent, in a match scheduled for Wednesday followed by an encounter against Bahamas on Thursday MC/AMP
