Luanda – Angola’s national football team 'Palancas Negras' drew on Monday with Sudan to zero balls and ends undefeated in the qualifiers for the African Championship (CAN), in 2025, in Morocco.
Leader of Group F, now with 14 points, Angola had already secured its presence in next year's African championship, having faced the last two matches to meet the schedule, first with Ghana (1-1) and today with Sudan (0-0).
With the results of the last round, in Group F qualifies, in addition to Angola, Sudan, which has eight points, in second place. Niger (7 pts) and Ghana (3 pts) are out.
About the match, played in Benghazi (Libya), at the Banina Martrys stadium, home on loan to the Sudanese, coach Pedro Gonçalves fielded a team full of debutants in the usual starting eleven, presumably, with the idea of giving the athletes minutes of play.
However, this strategy was not at all right if the objective was to win the match, because in the general stage the Sudanese, who needed at least a draw to guarantee the pass to the CAN, were superior in terms of ball possession, flagrant missed opportunities.
It can be said that Angola was saved from defeat by the crossbar of the goal guard of Neblú, in the 52nd and 54th minutes, after shots from outside the area.
Zini was not the most important unit today as he was in the previous match, Milson, lined up almost at the end of the match and not even the previous entries of Mbala Nzola and Tó Carneiro brought greater dynamics to the game of the Palancas Negras.
Finally, there was the draw that interested Sudan and both teams are in the CAN coming out of Group F.MC/DOJ
