Luanda – The National Senior Women's Handball Team defeated Congo Brazzaville, 30-15, this Thursday, in a game for the second round of the Pre-Olympic tournament, taking place at the Kilamba Pavilion, in Luanda.
At half-time, the continental champions were already leading by 17-9.
On Wednesday, in the opening of the event, the national team defeated Senegal, 22-21.
With this victory, Angola have 4 points and are now half way through in the race to get the pass to the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris, France.
Marilia Quizelete, from Angola, with four goals, was considered the MVP of the match. The trophy was presented by the president of the Angolan Olympic Committee, Gustavo da Conceição.
Meanwhile, there is a general break on Friday.
On Saturday, the third and final round will be played with the hosts facing the Cameroonians (6pm) who come second with three points, in a decisive game for the title.
The winner will be one of Africa's representatives in Paris' 2024.
Still in the final round, Senegal will face Congo Brazzaville at 4 pm.
