African Judo Championship – Angola gets 11 medals

Luanda – The national cadet and junior judo teams, both genders, are returning to the country after competing in the African championship in Yaoundé (Cameroon) where they won 11 medals.

In the cadet category, Angolan athletes won three gold medals, one silver and three bronze, while in juniors, they obtained three silver and a bronze.

Judokas Adelino Simão (-60Kg), Rosiane Alberto (-44Kg) and Edna Calunga (-55), won gold in cadets. Agostinho Makudila (-81Kg) won the silver medal, while Glória Zola (-52), Ilídio Buaca (-55) and Yola Piedade (-57kg) got the bronze.

In addition to the individual sector, the Angolan team competed as teams, finishing in third place.

According to information published on the Judo federation's Facebook official page, the head of the Judo Federation's disciplinary council, Hamilton Marcos, said that winning 11 medals was a positive result.

Aiming for the gold medal in the cadet team category, as happened in the juniors, the important thing was to get silver in both categories, Hamilton Marcos, said. IN/WR/CF/DOJ
