Luanda - The National Women's Cadet Handball Team lost this Tuesday to Egypt by 23-25, in the closing game of the group stage of the category's African Championship, taking place in Monastir, Tunisia.
In the fight for the leadership of series (B) between the Angolan and Egyptian team, the highest rated in the competition, the opponent, defending champion, was more calm and efficient, achieving the triumph.
The challenge was quite balanced in the first half, where the score ended equal to 12 goals, Angola had a good start and for the first time created an acceptable difference of 17-13.
Minutes later, the Egyptians managed to recover and returned to the game, taking the lead (19-18).
The match once again had excitement, given the growth of the opposing team, which extended the result to 24-22, three minutes from the end, managing the score and ending with a 25-23 victory.
With this result, Egypt finishes on top of Group B, and Angola in second, both qualified for the quarter-finals, without it yet being known who they will play against.
At the opening of the regular phase, Angola beat Morocco, 37-15, and defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a 37-13 victory.
