Luanda - The Angolan national basketball team on Friday in Manila, Philippines, lost to Italy 67-81, in the first round of the World Championship, for group A.
In the game at the Philippines Arena pavilion, Angolan player Childe Dundão was the top scorer with 19 points, followed by fellow Angolan Bruno Fernando with 13 points and five rebounds.
Angola will play the Philippines on Sunday at the Smarte Araneta Coliseum.
In the first phase of the event, the Angolan team will also play the Dominican Republic on the 29th of this month.
