Luanda – The senior men's basketball team on Friday lost to team from Mexico, by 76-78, in the opening round of the international tournament “Taça do Rei XI', which will run until the 7th in Jordan.
The competition, involving four teams, precedes the participation of the African Champions in the World Cup, from August 25th to September 10th, in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.
On Saturday (the 5th), the Hendeca champions will play the hosts (Jordan) at 6 pm and on Monday (the 7th) they will face Portugal.
The preparation of the national team started in Benguela province, continuing in Spain, where it held a friendly game against Venezuela, with a 66-61 victory.
In the FIBA World Cup, Angola is in Group A, with the Dominican Republic, Philippines and Italy. BSV/MC/DOJ
