Luanda - Nine athletes, including the Grand Slam champion, Hélio Caio, are representing the country in the Youth Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World Championship, which runs from this Tuesday to the 20th of this month, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The 16-year-old red belt in the 61.2kg category stood out in the Grand Slam, played last May in the same country, by winning a gold medal after defeating host Rashed Alshehhi.
Completing the national team are fighters João Pedro (65.8kg), Hernani Airosa (77.1), Rubem de Carvalho (56.7), Eric Benson (77.1), Sanderson Graça (70.3), Mayra Lemos (52), Emanuel Alfredo (70.3) and Ricardo Pireza (61.2).
The Youth Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World Championship involves 498 athletes from 41 countries, aged between 12 and 17 years of age.
