Luanda - Angola national senior men’s football team is in group C of the COSAFA Cup, alongside Namibia, Lesotho and the Seychelles, the draw made on Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa, determined.
The 23rd edition of the cup to be held from June 26 to July 7 in Durban, South Africa, will include Mozambique, Eswatini, Botswana (group A) and Zambia, Comoros Islands, Zimbabwe and another to be determined (B), for a total of 12 teams.
The three winners of each group and the best runner-up will qualify for the semi-finals.
Angolan coach Pedro Gonçalves has called up 16 players who play in the diaspora, unlike the previous squads, in which Angola was represented by more players from the domestic league.
The squad includes goalkeepers Edmilson Cambila (Estrela de Amadora, Portugal), Landu Langanga (Sagrada Esperança) and Francisco Mangala "Gelson" (Interclube).

Maestro (Adana Demispor, Turkey), Domingos Andrade (Felgueiras, Portugal), Joseph Nduquidi (Metz, France), Keliano (Estrela de Amadora), Maya (Petro de Luanda) and Pedro Agostinho (Desportivo da Lunda-Sul) are the midfielders.
Strikers Berna (Boavista, Portugal), Picas (Feirense, Portugal), Depú (Gil Vicente, Portugal), Ben Arfa (Kabuscorp do Palanca), Pedro Muteba (1860 Munchen, Germany) and Miro (Gil Vicente, Portugal).
At the 2023 edition in South Africa, Angola finished second in the group stage with four (4) points.
