Luanda - Angolan senior men's national basketball team beat the host country 80-70 on Sunday in Manila, Philippines, in the second round of the World Championship, Group A.
In the game played at the Smarte Araneta Coliseum, Angolan player Gerson Lukeny was the top scorer with 17 points, followed by fellow Angolan Gerson Domingos with 15 points, while Bruno Fernando (14).
With this result, after losing 67-81 to Italy on Friday, the eleven-time African champions are in third place with three points, just like Italy, who are in second place.
Group A is led by the Dominican Republic with four points after their 87-82 win over Italy this Sunday.
The National team play the Dominican Republic on Tuesday in the same venue.
