Luanda - With the main objective of improving its performance in the group stage, the national futsal team are already in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to compete in the FIFA World Cup, which will be held from Sept 14th to October 6th.
Since last Wednesday in Uzbekistan, the Angolan team begin participation in the competition on the 15th (1pm), against Afghanistan, for Group C.
At the group Stage, besides the Afghans, Angola face Ukraine, on the 17th, and Argentina on the 21st.
The three group stage games are taking place at the Humo Arena in Tashkent. Angola, led by coach Marcos Antunes, enter this competition as African futsal runner-up, a title achieved this year in Morocco.
The 18 players who trained in Portugal and are listed in the competition are Bonito, Arroz Doce, Vedo, Pesado, Bráulio, Anderson, Helber, Kaluanda, Chico, Jó, Adérico, Nelsinho, Paulo and Denis.
The Angolan team were at the World Cup in Lithuania in 2021.
