Luanda - Angola lost on Thursday to Algeria, by 1-2, in a quarter-final match of the African Championship (CAN) of amputee football, thus missing the podium goal.

Paciência Félix scored the only goal of the National Team, which was losing by 0-2, in this competition that takes place in Cairo City (Egypt).

Taking place at the Petrol Sport stadium, the World Champions 'Mexico'2018' and African 'Angola'2019' were unable to make favoritism prevail, eventually succumbing to a debutant, who only started in 2019.

With this unexpected defeat, the national team will compete in the qualifiers from 5 to 6 places, and can also guarantee qualification for the 2026 World Cup, whose Africa has seven places.

Framed in group D of the initial phase, the National Team debuted with a 4-0 thrashing against Sierra Leone, followed by another triumph against Tanzania, by 2-1. MC/DOJ
