Luanda – The National Junior Men’s Handball Team on Thursday beat the United States of America (USA) by 33-26, thus ending their participation in the World Cup in the 25th position, an event happening in Germany and Greece.
Throughout the game Angola confirmed their favouritism, reflecte in the result of the first half, 17-12 for the Angolans.
Angola played the first stage in the German city of Magdburg and the qualyfing stage for the definition of the standing from the 25th position and bellow in Hannover, a competition attended by 32 national teams.
The Angolan squad, coached by William Almeida, had three consecutive defeats in the inital stage, namely by the Faroe Islands (21-34), Spain (28-34) and Japan (32-33).
In the second stage (definition of the 25th to 32nd positions) the Angolan squad lost to Kwait (38-26), then beat Costa Rica by 43-27.
With this result, Angola did not manage to improve the 21st position achieved in 2015, in Brazil, a world championship that had the participation of 24 national teams.
