Luanda - The National Senior Female Handball Team will compete for the 17th time in the World Championship, in 2023, after winning the African title last Saturday.
The world competition which is co-hosted by Denmark, Norway and Sweden to take place from 30 November to 17 December, will also have the participation of Cameroon, Republic of Congo and Senegal according to the ranking of the African Women´s Handball Championship 2022 edition which took place in Dakar, Senegal.
Of the four qualified teams, Angola is the most regular in the event in a edition without Tunisia´s participation and Senegal will attend for the second time, after debuting in 2019 edition held in Japan.
In 2007, in France, under the leadership of coach Jerónimo Neto, Angola achieved seventh place as the best standing so far in a World Championship.
Last year, in Spain edition, the Angolan squad unexpectedly ended up in 25th place.
Angola's first participation took place in 1990, in South Korea, having obtained the 16th position among the same number of participating teams.
