Luanda - Angola national junior women's handball team face Iceland in the first round of group H of the 2024 Women’s Junior World Championship to take place from June 19 to 30, in Skopje (Macedonia).
Angola, participating for the eighth time in this international competition aims to improve the sixth place achieved in the 2022 edition in Slovenia.
Led by José Chuma, the team spent seven days training in Hungary, where they played two matches, beating Budaors senior team (28-23) and Nemesvamos (32-30).
In Macedonia, Angola played a preparatory tournament against Romania, losing 26-28 and beating Chile 26-19.
In the third-place play-offs, Angola was beaten by China (32-30) in a penalty shoot-out after a 28-goal draw in regulation time.

B - Switzerland, Egypt, Tunisia and Chile
C - Hungary, Republic of Korea, Argentina and Mexico
