Luanda - Angola face Cameroon at 4:30 pm Wednesday, in the quarter-finals of the African women's under-18 basketball championship, taking place in Pretoria, South Africa.
The Angolan team, led by coach Paulo Macedo, needed a victory in the 3rd and final round of Group B to qualify for the second stage.
To reach to this phase, Angola beat Morocco (74-62) and newcomers Zambia (85-35), as well as recorded defeat in their debut against Mali (51-43).
The Angolan team finished second in their series, with five points, led by Mali, with six.
In turn, Cameroon qualified for the eliminatory phase of the competition by defeating Rwanda (79-46) and South Africa (107-23), having lost to Tunisia in the 3rd round (73-59).
Still for the quarter-finals, Mali-Rwanda will play on Wednesday, Tunisia face Uganda and Egypt play Nigeria.
In the fight for 9th to 12th places, Zambia play South Africa and Morocco and Zimbabwe will face each other.
