Luanda – The national beach football team on Wednesday lost to Mozambique 4-8, in a game of the last round of group B of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA Cup), taking place in South Beach Arena, South Africa.
The players Fonseca, Amaral, Francisco and António scored for Angola, while Rachid, Figo, Arroz and Pieer scored for Mozambique.
With this result, Angola, with 4 points, suffered the first defeat against Mozambique, who qualified for the semi-finals with 6 points.
Another match in the same group is scheduled for 4 pm, with Morocco (3) facing Tanzania.
In case Morocco win the game in regular time, they will be with Mozambique in the semi-finals.
In the initial round, Angola beat Tanzania 3-2 and in the second match they beat Morocco 3-2.
In the first edition of the COSAFA Cup in this category in 2021, the national team came third.
The absent Senegal team are the defending champions.
As for the rules, the sport allows for one point when the winner is found after penalty kicks.
Two points are won after extra time, while three are won at the end of regular time, which means after 36 minutes, divided into three 12-minute periods.
