Luanda – With a gold medal, three silver medals and an equal number of bronze, the National Junior Team finished Friday in Antananarivo (Madagascar), 5th in the African Championship.

Angolan judoka Vânia Gabriel, in the -48 kg category, won the gold medal after defeating her compatriot Eldunira Segunda, who had to settle for silver.

In the -78 kg category, Twande César won his second silver by dethroning the athlete from Egypt Aya Gaballa, and Dinis Silva won his third silver medal thanks to his triumph over Omar Eramy (Egypt), in the -90 kg category.

The bronze medals were won by Leonardo Barros (-60 Kgs), who beat the Nigerian Moussa Yahaya, Leonardo Domingos (-73 Kgs) defeated the Moroccan Nouh Lahmouri and Yunilde Lopes (-78 Kgs) who did not give the Moroccan a chance, Jhane ElHoumate.

On Saturday, the Angolans will start competing in the cadet category, with the following men's judokas, António Lopes (-55 kg), Cláudio Francisco (-60 kg), Maravilha Paty (-66 kg), Lucas Paulo (-73 kg) and Agostinho Makudila (-81 kg).

Women category enter the mat with Vânia Gabriel (-48 kg), Beuma Pinha (-52 kg), Diuma José (-57 kg), Maria Jaime (-63 kg), Isabel Chuculia (-70 kg), Yunilda Lopes (-78 kg) and Twana Caesar (-78 kg).

Vania Quissua (-48 kg), Eldemira Segunda (-48 kg), Yola Piedade (-57 kg), Rosa Luamba (-63 kg), Olga Bento (-70 kg) and Odete Pedro (+70 kg) complete the group. BSV/MC/CF/NIC
