Luanda – Angola national junior women's handball team qualified Tuesday for the semi-finals of the African Championship taking place in Monastir, Tunisia.
In the fourth and final match of the group stage, the Angolan team, current title holders, beat Guinea 31-22 to secure their spot in the semi-finals to be played Wednesday.
The Angolan side struggled compared to their previous matches, going into half-time with a two-goal lead (12-10).
Angola beat Kenya (54-9) in their opening match, another triumph over the DRC (42-9), while on Sunday the team defeated Côte d'Ivoire (43-19).
Angola have ten titles, followed by Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire, with three each.
