Luanda - Alves Simões, candidate of list B, won the elections in the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), replacing Artur de Almeida e Silva (list C) for eight years in office.
In the election held on Saturday, in several constituencies in the country, the former president of Interclube provisionally added 133 votes, against 113 for the outgoing leader.
Norberto de Castro (A) added only 9 votes, out of a universe of 252 (two null) in dispute.
Alves Simões, becomes the eighth president of the Angolan Football Federation, after Eduardo Macedo dos Santos, Luís Gomes dos Santos, José Fernandes, Armando Machado, Justino Fernandes, Pedro Neto, Artur de Almeida e Silva.
The Federation founded in 1979 has been a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) since 1980. WR/MC/DOJ
