Luanda - Angola point guard Aginaldo Neto is part of the senior men's basketball team for the first time, according to the call-up released by the coach, Pep Clarós.
In total, 14 players were chosen for the Pre-Olympic Tournament, from the 2nd to the 7th of July in Valencia (Spain), with the 17-year-old athlete standing out, after several times being listed in pre-selections but unfortunately not on the final ellect.
Among the newcomers, seeking to qualify for the July/August Olympic Games in France, are also Luís Faial and Macaxi Braz.
Aginaldo, an Angolan promising player undergoing training at the NBA Africa Academy, based in Senegal, was this year chosen among the 40 talented young people in the world by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Angola National Team, in the final stage of their preparation in the Buçaco region, in the north of Portugal, head to Serbia on Saturday, where they will continue work with friendly matches against teams from the local League.
