Luanda - 1º de Agosto were defeated 1-2 today in Marrakesh, Morocco, by Al-Hilal from Sudan, in the second leg of the last round of access to the group stage of the African Champion Clubs Cup.
In the first-leg game played at the Tundavala stadium, in the city of Lubango, southern Huila Povince, the two teams drew (0-0).
For the same competition, Petro de Luanda qualified for the next phase, after beating União Desportiva do Songo from Mozambique 3-1, on Saturday, also at the Tundavala Stadium. In the first clash played in Maputo, the Angolans won 2-1.
For the Confederation Cup, Sagrada Esperança from Lunda Norte (Angolan province) beat Ferroviário Maputo, on penalties, 5-4, after 1-0 in regular time.
Académica do Lobito also qualified for the group stage by defeating Al Merreikh from South Sudan, 3-0 in a return match also held at Tundavala, after a draw in the first leg, in Nairobi, Kenya.
