Luanda – 1º de Agosto lost on Thursday in El Aiun, Morocco, to Club Sportif Sfaxien from Tunisia, by 26-28, in the first round of group A of the African Clubs Championship in senior women.
At halftime, the Angolan representative was already losing by 11-14, beginning the defense of the continental title in the worst way.
The team led by coach José Chuma are participating in the competition with a very young squad without much competitive experience.
As for the other Angolan representative team, Petro de Luanda, they kicks off in the competition on Friday, Oct 11, facing the Peacocks from Nigeria.
