Luanda - Angola’s First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço Wednesday in Luanda inaugurated the garden dubbed "Eu Sou Vida".
The move comes at a time the world and the country, in particular, are seeking for means and methods to ensure the sustainability of the environment.
The newly unveiled the garden, sponsored by Caixa Totta Bank, is part of the "Árvore da Vida" project belonging to Association of Scouts of Angola and is sponsored by the First Lady.
After unveiling the plaque, Ana Dias Lourenço was clarified on the species planted as well as the landscaping designed by the architect of Expo Garden, Mara Weza.
The chairperson of the National Committee of the Scout Association, Azevedo Ebo said that of the 100,000 trees planted across the country, only 70,000 are under control, while 30,000 have been uprooted. “Trees transform carbon gas into oxygen and store carbon dioxide,” he recalled.
Eu Sou Vida project started two years ago and aims to contribute to the balance of the ecosystem. ML/ART/TED/NIC
