Menongue – The southeastern Cuando Cubango province launched Thursday a natural resource and wildlife research center dedicated to agriculture and ecotourism, as part of the Provincial Development Plan KK-2050.
The project has as partners the Porto and Cuito Cuanavale universities, as well as the private Higher Polytechnic Institute of Menongue, high institutes, boards of different government offices, among others.
Speaking to the press, the governor of Cuando Cubango, Júlio Bessa, said that the center will do the necessary research into fauna, flora and water resources.
The objective is to allow a rational exploration of resources and attract tourists under the cross-border Okavango-Zambeze project, of which Angola is member.
The center is tasked with conducting, organising or participating directly or indirectly in scientific and technological research and development projects.
