Luena - The Provincial Government of Moxico approved an action plan for the province's biodiversity, with a view to preserving biological diversity over the next six years.
The plan, approved today, in an extraordinary session, comes into force in the first quarter of 2025, and foresees the inclusion of ecosystem conservation, promotion of scientific research, sustainable use of resources and raising awareness among communities on environmental matters.
According to the final document of the meeting, guided by governor Ernesto Muangala, the plan is aligned with the global goals of the Convention on biological diversity and the National Development Plan.
During the meeting that brought together members of the provincial Government, the Organic Statutes of the House of Culture and the Historical Complex Monument to Peace were also approved, public institutions aimed at preserving and promoting national culture and the country's history of peace and reconciliation.
The eastern Province of Moxico has an area of 223,023 square kilometers, with 9 municipalities, namely Alto Zambeze, Bundas, Camanongue, Cameia, Luacano, Luau, Léua, Luchazes and Moxico.
