Soyo – Angolan minister of the Environment Ana Paula de Carvalho Friday in Soyo, northern Zaire province, asked the local companies for greater responsibility for conservation and preservation of the environment.
Ana Paula de Carvalho was addressing a closing ceremony of the activities on the World Environment Day, 5th June.
In her speech, the minister considered the involvement of society, as a whole, in environmental protection crucial to achieving the agenda 21 goals, referring to environmental issues.
She encouraged the implementation of reforestation projects for mangrove species underway on the coast of Zaire, a region that has an area of 33,000 hectares of this fauna species, the largest in the country.
Ana Paula de Carvalho wants initiatives aimed at planning, preventing and mitigating the risks underlying human activity and which, at the same time, guarantee the survival of populations residing in mangrove conservation areas. JFC/PMV/JL/NIC
