Luanda - The Minister of the Environment, Ana Paula de Carvalho, on Thursday in Luanda, highlighted some progress in the implementation of Angola's actions to contain climate change in the country and in the world.
Speaking to the press after the end-of-year greetings, she highlighted the considerable reduction of greenhouse gases, cleaning and waste control, implementation of the National Strategy for Climate Change (ENAC 2022-2035), supply of clean energy, methane reduction initiative and drought eradication in the south of the country, among others.
She stressed the continuity of the work for the implementation of a strategy for monitoring, in real time, forest fires in the country, with emphasis on the province of Cabinda.
In the chapter on National Parks, she said that they will continue with the project to restore the animal population in conservation areas, within the joint Decree created with the Ministry of Tourism that should be updated in the coming days.
Ana Paula de Carvalho considered that there was a lot of work in the reduction and valorization of waste, massification of environmental education actions at the level of schools, neighborhoods and main cities. SJ/SEC/DOJ
