Lubango – An application focused on waste management, whose project is called “Eco-assim é logico” was developed by “Tchikola Kinzamba”, a technology and art company based in Lubango, Huila province, for better waste management and treatment.
Tchikola Kinzamba-commerce and service provision, Lda, has existed since 2022. It creates websites, teaching platforms, online stores, web design, graphic design, commercial and security management systems, as well as document management and telephone services, while in the artistic area it promotes events, focusing on valuing national culture.
The idea with the application is to sell solid waste in an organized way, encouraging local awareness to value waste.
Speaking to ANGOP, Sunday, one of the company's mentors and co-author of the project, Hangula Quinanga, stated that the “Eco-assim é logico” initiative arose from an idea in November 2021, implemented in the first months of 2023 and now they are identifying new partners to continue it.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Sustainability Fair that ended on Saturday, as part of the National Environment Week that runs from the 26th to the 31st, he declared that the project aims to change the community's mentality in the aspects of reuse, recycling and reduction of materials, with emphasis on solids.
Creating a new source of income for the citizen, through solid waste, thus encouraging mentality, giving a value to waste, reusing and educating, thus raising awareness that waste is a useful asset, is another objective, according to the interviewed.
“If we have the habit of organizing solid waste from home, it makes life easier not only for the collector, but also for the industry, in terms of recycling materials. Our purpose is to organize waste and promote a sustainable mentality in the country”, he reinforced.
He highlighted that the company is aware that the application alone is not enough, so the company will create a new means of obtaining local income, jobs, bins with the selected waste deposit.
“We want to create a system in which the application will work with the customer from home, the recycling points, the collection companies that already exist and put an end to the manufacturing industry. Being able to count on the State, private entities and civil society”, he stressed.
Hangula Quinanga added that the application will also have a sustainable market to encourage people to create objects using recycled and reused materials.
He said the technology is ready, but not yet for public use, as they intend to launch the Beta version this year, in which it will be possible to sell liquid waste from restaurants, a system that already exists physically, will only be digitized, as well as the process and reuse of plastic bottles.
“There is a lack of support, the project is ambitious and we as a company alone are unable to boost things. We need partners such as companies and organizations that have waste collection materials, other government bodies, we are open to all possible help”, he stated.
The fair, which ended on Saturday, was promoted by the Provincial Office of the Environment, Waste Management and Community Services of Huíla, one of the main partners of the company behind the project. MS/MS/CF/DOJ
