Luanda - An Angolan delegation has been participating, since Thursday, in the city of Brasília, Brazil, in the G20 technical meeting on climate that addresses, among other topics, resource mobilization and climate change.
At the meeting that also assesses the countries' transition plans, their associated externalities, risk perception and financial flows, the Angolan delegation is guided by the secretary of State for Climate Action and Sustainable Development, Paula Francisco Coelho.
The taskforce's work plan and the role of development banks will also be analyzed at the two-day event.
The Climate Task Force has the ambition to ensure coherence and give a higher profile to climate-related work.
The G20 or Group of 20 is an international economic cooperation forum that emerged in 1999 and brings together the world's main developed and underdeveloped economies. It is made up of 19 countries and the European Union.
The G20 aims to strengthen the international economy and discuss fundamental issues for global socioeconomic development, such as international trade, agriculture, energy sources and the environment and its meetings are held annually.
Brazil whose mandate began on Dec 1, 2023 holds the rotating presidency of the group until November 30, 2024.
