Luanda – Netherland plans to help Angola develop, produce and export moringa and tropical fruits, with the aim to support the country’s economic diversification process, the Netherlands ambassador to Angola, Tsjeard Hoekstra has said.
Speaking during an audience with Angolan Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, António Francisco de Assis, the diplomat said his country is interested in investing in the production and export of orange, tangerine and lemon.
According to a press release that reached ANGOP, the meeting also discussed issues related to the Lobito Corridor Logistics Platform.
Tsjeard Hoekstra added that his country intends to assist Angola to improve sanitary control under technical support for the implementation of the Electronic Product Certification System to enhance the quality of goods and secure food safety in the country.
The Angolan minister also received the French ambassador to Angola, Sophie Aubert to assess Food security, National Development Plan, Strategic infrastructures for diversification and development of agriculture and industry and the Training of human capital.
The French diplomat pledged to invite French entrepreneurs to strengthen investment in various priority areas of Angola, mainly in the productive sector.
The diplomat took the opportunity to highlight goals reached by the Commercial Agriculture Development Project (PDAC) funded by the French Development Agency and the World Bank.
The French ambassador said she was pleased with the results reached by the project, which they hope could be replicated in other regions of the country.
The Angolan minister on his turn expressed gratitude with the partnerships and investment intentions, underlining that they are always welcome for Angola.
António de Assis spoke of the need to create a feasible program with direct impact on the lives of families, through investments that can generate greater production in the agriculture and forestry sector. QCB/MRA/AMP
