Dundo - The governor of Lunda-Norte, Filomena Miza, said on Wednesday that the province needs to wake up to Agriculture, Livestock and be projected to a future without excessive dependence on diamonds.
The minister made this statement during the delivery of agricultural equipment, as part of the financing for the light mechanization of family farming, operated by the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA), which benefited 24 individual farmers, micro and small companies and cooperatives.
According to Filomena Miza, at a time when the watchword is the diversification of the national economy, investment in the agricultural sector is a priority of the Government, which through various financing programs, has stimulated national production.
She said that the development of agriculture in Lunda-Norte presupposes constant adaptation to new techniques and technologies, so that production levels can be achieved that ensure food self-sufficiency, fight poverty and rural exodus.
She directed municipal administrations to encourage the capacity building of agricultural cooperatives, as well as to facilitate the transfer of land and its titles, to allow the sector to benefit from financing from FADA and other financial institutions.
On the other hand, he called on the beneficiaries to take care of the means and honor their commitments, especially the reimbursements, in order to allow more farmers to receive the respective financing. HD/DOJ
