Sumbe – The head for the Commercial Agriculture Development Project (PDAC) in Cuanza-Sul, Margarida de Almeida, appealed yesterday, in Sumbe, to farmers to join the financing of this program, with a view to strengthening production in the region.
Margarida de Almeida, who spoke to ANGOP about the situation of the project in the province, highlighted its advantages, mainly for farmers with around 10 or more hectares of arable land, although it is not only for these that the credit is intended.
“The project is for all citizens, as long as they are linked to organized cooperatives, micro, small and medium-sized companies or other institutions linked to agriculture”, she said.
She spoke of the need to strengthen the production chain for corn, beans, sweet potatoes, soybeans, cassava and rice, as well as cattle and goats.
For her, the financing will not only provide greater options for production, but also for marketing.
She made it known that 31 business plans had been financed in the province since the beginning of the project in 2020, valued at 1.583.447.189, 81 Kwanzas
The PDAC has financing of USD 230 million provided by the World Bank and the French Development Agency, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock. LC/VC/CF/DOJ
