Saurimo – At least 30 rural women in Saurimo municipality, eastern Lunda-Sul province, received monetary support worth 36,000 kwanzas to promote their activities, as part of the "Catoca Rural Women" program.
The municipality of Saurimo has registered 1,600 women from the municipalities of Cacolo, Dala, Muconda and Saurimo to benefit from 36,000 kwanzas each quarter.
The aim of the project is to finance rural women with micro-credits for the creation of community gardens, management training and the creation of businesses and projects.
For this second phase, the "Catoca Mulher Rural" program says it has more than 55 million kwanzas available.
In the first phase of the program at least 1,000 women from the province's four municipalities received financial aid.QB/JW/ASS/AMP
