Dundo - The Agrarian Development Fund (FADA) has made available 500 million kwanzas to finance 45 projects in Lunda-Norte province, as part of the Program to Accelerate Family Farming and Food Security.
The information was disclosed Monday in Dundo by Adão Matare, a technician of the FADA's credit department, during an exhibition of agricultural equipment, stressing that of the 45 projects, 26 have already been funded.
He added that the 26 projects consumed 290 million Kwanzas used to purchase inputs and prepare the land.
Matare added that Lunda-Norte is on the list of the six provinces selected for the second phase of the Family Farming and Food Security Acceleration Program, which also includes Cunene, Lunda-Sul, Cuando-Cubango, Moxico and Zaire.
Without specifying the amount, period and interest rate of the loan repayment, he said that funding for this second phase began earlier this year in Cunene province.
He added that there are currently 18 motor cultivators and seven tractors available for micro, small and individual farmers in Lunda-Norte made available under the equipment credit program, which will be repaid over a period of 3 to 4 years, with an interest rate of 3 percent. HD/AMP
