Luanda - Angolan minister of Industry and Commerce Victor Fernandes Thursday called for the need to ensure that relations between Africa and China develop, with focus on the sectors of investments in the agricultural, industrial and transformation of final goods.
The minister made the call while speaking to the press at the opening of the Third Edition of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE).
He said, so far, the relations with the Asian country are mainly restricted to credit line, adding that the African continent has a very large potential and needs "to transform the materials into final products and serve China and Africa in general".
The minister said trade relations between Africa and China could cover the entire continent through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), thus increasing the number of people involved in commercial exchanges.
In addition to Victor Fernandes, the event, taking place in Chinese city of Changsha, capital of Hunan province and running until July 2, was also attended by minister of Agriculture and Forestry António Francisco de Assis and representatives of several national companies. AC/CF/NIC
