Sumbe – The agricultural sector in the municipality of Ebo, Cuanza-Sul province, expects to harvest 300 tons of various products, it was learned today from the local department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
The 2023/2024 agricultural campaign in Ebo has 34,674 peasant families associated in 58 agricultural cooperatives and as individual producers, who are producing 86,685 hectares, on an average of 2.5 hectares per family.
According to the sector director, Floriano da Silva, despite the rains affecting some crops, cabbage, sweet potatoes, cassava, garlic, onions, tomatoes, carrots, apples, avocados and other products are part of the 2023/2024 agricultural seasons.
“Our intention is to increase production and cultivation areas, since family farming is represented by 95% of the local population, which is supported with contributions through the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLC)”, he highlighted.
