Pretoria - South Africa reached 790,004 positive cases of Covid-19 last Tuesday, after detecting 2.302 infections, since the previous day statistics.
Releasing the data, the Health minister, Zweli Mkhize, pointed the province of Gauteng as the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, with 234,957 cases, followed by the Western Cape (132,450), Kwazulu-Natal (127,842) and Eastern Cape (127,737).
The official said that 58 people died of disease in above period.
Of this figure, 32 in the Eastern Cape province, 15 in the neighboring Western Cape, five in Free State, three in Gauteng and an equal number in Kwazulu-Natal.
The total number of the deaths stands at 21,535 deaths, since the outbreak of the disease in the country, in March 2020.
However, the source, who would not provide the figure of those who conducted the tests, put the recoveries at 731,242.
