Pretoria –South Africa marked last Tuesday the AIDS World Day with an update on the country progress to 90-90-90 and sharing the first conclusions of Covid-19 impact on HIV and tuberculosis reference services.
This was during an event presided over by the Vice President David Mabuza in his capacity as chairperson of South Africa National AIDS Council (SANAC), held at an historic neighborhood of Soweto in Joanesburg.
The AIDS World Day is marked every year on 1 December, and in 2020 it is aligned to the motto “Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility”.
In South Africa, the date was celebrated under the sub-theme “We are together in this fight”, a call for all South Africans to do right choices on health and to ensure that they know their serological status.
