Luanda – The largest Spanish airline, IBERIA, started selling TAAG's tickets to link destinations via Luanda, as part of the strategic partnership signed between the two companies in May this year.

The measure, formalised by a codeshare and interline agreement, another stage of the collaboration between IBERIA and TAAG has been successfully concluded.

The move is aimed at strengthening connections between Africa and Europe, through the Luanda/Madrid route, inaugurated on 27 June 2022, according to a press release sent to ANGOP Thursday.

Codeshare is an agreement in which two or more airlines share the same flight, the same service standards and the same sales channels.

According to the document, TAAG had already started selling tickets to IBERIA destinations via Madrid when the route was opened, and, in reciprocity, the Spanish company starts selling tickets through its website www.iberia.com and travel agencies.

This combined effort will boost the volume of traffic to the destinations of both companies, and IBERIA will encourage travel and attract passengers from Europe with economic, cultural or tourism purposes to visit destinations in Africa and South America within the TAAG network.

Currently, Luanda/Madrid/Luanda route has two weekly frequencies operated with TAAG aircraft, and as of November 1, 2022, one more flight will be added, totaling three weekly.

IBERIA is the largest Spanish airline and the leader between Europe and Latin America, offering flights to 50 countries around the world from Madrid airport.

On the other hand, TAAG is a leading company in the aviation market in Angola, globally recognised and with sustained growth, currently offering 14 domestic and 12 international destinations, respectively.

In addition to passenger transport, the Angolan company's fleet also transports cargo.
