Luanda - Angola and Turkey Tuesday in Ankara analysed the reinforcement of bilateral cooperation in the sector of transport between the two countries.

This was during a meeting between the two incumbent ministers of the sector, Ricardo Viegas D´Abreu of Angola and the Turkish counterpart Adil Karaismailoglu

The cooperation focused on the aviation and railway infrastructure, as well as opened opportunities for Turkish businesspeople of maritime-port and railway sub-sectors to invest in Angola.

The Angolan minister spoke of the foreign investment opportunity in the country.

As example, he mentioned the recently launched international public tender on the modernisation and management of the Lobito Port, and another related to Lobito Corridor.

Ricardo D´Abreu described the visit as a further milestone in the strengthening of ties between the countries and having expressed  assurance that Angola and Turkey might walk together toward building the strategic ties of mutual interest.

Ricardo D´Abreu’s programme includes visits and meetings in Istanbul with the main business groups in the transport and infrastructure sector, with emphasis on the Yapi Merkezi company.

D`Abreu will also seize the opportunity to present the construction Project of surface railway of Luanda, which has been in pipeline and whose the construction requires, among others, competence and investment.

During his stay, the Angolan official will hold talks with the Turkish Airline representatives.

The minister is leading a delegation integrated by senior employees of the Angolan Airlines TAAG, National Authority of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Transport.
