Luanda – Raxio Group, one of the main pan-African builders and operators of data centers, announced Tuesday it is investing in the first Tier IIII Certified Data Technology Center in Angola, to be operational in 2024.
Under construction in the municipality of Cacuaco, province of Luanda, the center is close to the landing points of submarine cables.
According to the communiqué that ANGOP had access, the Tier III data center in Angola will bring high technology.
The Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM) said the Angola's digital and telecommunications ecosystem is developing rapidly, with the country reaching an internet penetration rate of approximately 27%.
The document states that the new connectivity providers have entered the market and others are actively improving their networks, coverage and services.
“These indicators provide a growth opportunity to make Angola a strategic hub for connectivity in the region, including significant cross-border traffic, with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where the Raxio Group is already building a top-modern facility in Kinshasa”.
The Tier III Angola Certified Data Center will provide terrestrial and submarine connectivity, serving both local and international customers.
Raxio Angola, a subsidiary of the Raxio Group and manager of the future center in the country, is engaged, based on international sustainability standards (ISSB), in the direct and indirect creation of jobs, with qualified staff.
