Viana - The 5th edition of the National Exhibition of Young Angolan Creators, which aims to promote creativity, artistic innovation and cultural entrepreneurship, was opened Thursday in Viana, Luanda Province, in an event chaired by the secretary of State for Youth, Danila de Almeida Bragança.
The event, which runs until Friday, brings together the participation of 200 young people from across the country.
The holding of this edition is part of the preparation plan for Angola's participation in the 11th Biennial of Young Creators of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which will take place from 14 to 18 November this year, in Lisbon, Portugal.
This event has been held since 2013 and this year´s edition features creations distributed across six disciplines, namely visual arts, performing arts, audiovisuals, literature, science and applied arts.
The two years event promotes cultural exchange through the creative capacity of young people, sharing of experiences, detection of artistic talents, and an opportunity for young people to showcase their work.
On the occasion, Danila Bragança, said that it is currently important that the government continues to promote events of this kind that value the capacity and artistic creativity of young people, so that they have a youth that is more prepared and engaged in efforts for national development.
She pointed out that this edition will evaluate the quantity and quality of young people's creations, in order to select the best to represent the country at the Lisbon Biennale.
However, of the creations presented, a motorcycle made of wood stands out. It was created by young Afonso Dulu, who is from the province of Malanje and makes other materials with bamboo and wood.
To recall, the fourth edition of the National Exhibition of Young Angolan Creators took place in 2022 at Palácio de Ferro, in Luanda province.
